2023 Ditidaht Chief and Council Election Updated August 11, 2023

Ditidaht First Nation has received an appeal under the Elections Regulation section 14.03 regarding the Council Elections held on July 15th, 2023. Until the Appeals Panel has made a decision about the application, the date for Oath of Office ceremony for the new Council is yet to be determined.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.

The administration has received legal guidance about the validity of the current appeals panel and will recommend a new independent panel to process the appeal put forth regarding the election. We hope to have the panel in place early next week and will adhere to the timeline outlined in the Election Regulation. Your patience with this process is appreciated
