The NTC Health department is directing a study to investigate population-level antibody response to COVID-19 vaccination, serum capacity for SARS-CoV2 neutralization after vaccination, vaccine effectiveness by case-control design, vaccine safety (i.e. side effects) and other topics in participating Nuu-chah-nulth communities. The project, entitled “NTC COVID-19 Vaccine Study into Immune Response, Effectiveness and Safety,” is funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and the Canadian Immunity Task Force (CITF) and will be conducted in partnership with Simon Fraser University Faculty of Health Sciences, the University of Manitoba, and the Canadian National Microbiology Laboratory. It will help us learn the extent to which our community members are protected by the COVID-19 vaccine (knowledge that will support current and future planning of health services and programs).
